Returning to the castle hand-in-had had been uneventful. A few people from his house had waved to him, some from hers had done the same. Dinner would be the real test. Dane didn't see Evan as they entered the Great Hall and he led her to the Slytherin table. That wasn't to say he'd turn up either. Dane noted a few heads turn in their direction and saw some whispers behind hands, but he could have cared less. He took two seat on the end of the bench that faced the rest of the hall.
Food appeared and nothing was said while plates were being filled. Picking up a nearby plate of meat and potatoes he loaded his own plate. "What will you have?" She needed to eat and he truly hoped she would. If she didn't he'd haul her pretty face up to the hospital wing and force it down himself if need be. She needed her strength for the work ahead, that and he cared for her and her health. Which reminded him, maybe she should go anyway for her wounds.

Keena hadn't really paid attention to anyone or anything else, since, you know... that her hand was clutched to the best person she knew. However... When she walked into the Great Hall and sat down at the Slytherin table... Well... Lets just say a moment of "this could turn out poorly" popped into her head. Still though, she sat pleasantly next to Dane and seriously considered his question.."Just a few of the shrimp please."

He'd felt her hand tense on his as they sat. "Now I'm going to need this to fill your plate." He indicted his hand in hers. Letting go to fill her plate with the shrimp she asked for and some greens she didn't he set it back in front of her. "I know you women have some obsession with what you do and don't eat. I've two sisters and a mother, so I know. But you've got to eat, just a bit please." Dane wouldn't add in the cliche 'for me', because it would be a low blow and she wouldn't do it. Though she needed to keep her strength up and he'd do what he could to see that she would do just that.
Digging into his own meal he nodded across to two of his roommates. Neither of which cared that Keena was sitting with them. As it was it seemed none of the houses sat with their own anymore, well save the Hufflepuffs. They tended to keep with themselves. So far the Headmaster hadn't put a stop to it so no one else saw fit to stop it either. Taking the jug of pumpkin juice his mate offered he filled both their glasses. "So about that race you've been saying we're to have? When might that be?" He was trying to keep things light and away from events that were to come later that evening.

Keena was pleasantly surprised when Dane plopped some green beans onto her plate. She smiled up at him from his side. "I will if you keep throwing healthy stuff at me." She munched on a shrimp, after pouring a heaping load of cocktail sauce onto her shrimp, and considered his next question... Her answer was filled with some implications... How about Friday night... You know, after dinner?" She gave an innocent look up to him that she knew could be killer when she wanted it to be.. Killer in a good way that is.

He thought about it for a moment. He didn't have any pressing plans not where she was concerned. "I'm certain I'll be free Friday night." It was a week away, he'd have to be on his best behavior this week so as not to land in detention Friday night. He finished his first serving and helped himself to a little more. He was starving for some reason. Dane would never admit to being afraid of what was to come, Montgomery's laughed in the face of fear.
"Can I get you anything else?" He finished his first glass and then topped it off from the jug. It was odd that he didn't see Severus here either, but they were among some of the first back to the castle for dinner, so he guessed that was the reason. But it was still odd.

Keena got close to Dane's ear and purred a little bit... "I can think of a few things..." She was teasing him openly. Hell, more openly than she'd ever shown affection for anyone. She'd gawked at Evan, but never openly flirted with him... Here she was, acting like... Well a young girl. It was so novel.

He bobbled the jug and caught it just in time before it spilled on the table. Coughing to cover the near spill. Well, turn about was fair play there. He whispered back "Plenty of time for that later, yeah?" She was something else all together something he didn't know how to really handle. Though he certainly wanted to handle her, no question there. "Oi, you two shut it." He was speaking to his roommates who had noticed the slip up. He'd get them back this evening, if he could move.

She smiled innocently up at him, she had many plans this week that were already brewing inside her head... She was going to see him as much as possible... Why was she so attached... She chewed on her lower lip a bit and studied her plate... She didn't know how much was acceptable to admit and what was too much. Essentially he'd been courting her since they'd first met, and it'd worked - overly well.

"Right then, are you finished?" He was finished and they had some things to tale about, like the how and then when. He watched his roommates up and leave. Waving them off he swung a leg over the bench and stood. Straightening his shirt he realized everyone was heading back to their rooms to change back into proper school attire. "What say we meet up at the Astronomy Tower in five minutes?" He held out a hand to help her to her feet.

Keena blushed vibrantly and nodded. She kissed his cheek and trotted off to do something or another. She really didn't know what, she just knew that she needed to run off and prep in some way. What did he have planned?? Her mind reeled. She'd never done this type of thing before but she was certainly pleased to figure out what it was.

He watched her run off out of the hall and collected his thoughts before he left. It wouldn't take him long to change. Certainly he could take his time, but why would he ever want to do that when it was Keena involved? Shaking his head he got his thoughts together and headed out of the hall and down the stairs to his own common room.
