Alice wasn't quite sure why she didn't want him to leave, but she already said that he didn't have to leave. And now she was left trying to figure out what to say to him. Why was she trying to figure him out? "I'm trying to figure out why a popular Slytherin like you would follow me into the kitchen to talk to me just because. Other than in potions, and your sister, I don't think I've ever had a Slytherin take an interest in talking to me at all...and even with potions, they talk because they have to, not because they want to." She was rambling now, and she mentally smacked herself for doing so. "I guess I'm really not sure?" Alice said this as a question and wasn't sure what else to say. And for fear of rambling some more, she left it at that for the moment.

Evan chuckled. "You make it sound like I was stalking you. Let's not let that get around, alright?" His boredom created interest in the Gryffindor was just that, induced by the fact that he had nothing to do. He didn't need the school thinking he was obsessed with Alice Hadley. He had a reputation to maintain.
Evan watched the elves clean up around the kitchen. There were fewer out now than there would be prior to curfew. During the day the place would be packed, filled with the creatures as they scurried about preparing meals for a fleet of students and their professors. And even though no one was supposed to be out of bed at this hour, there were still elves staying up in the kitchen. They knew the students snuck out for snacks at night and were happy to oblige. Evan looked back at Alice. "Got a boyfriend, Lion?" he asked out of curiosity alone.

Alice laughed a little and shook her head, "I didn't mean to suggest that you were stalking me. I just meant you could have turned around and walked the other way. But that doesn't matter really." There weren't many people that she was even planning on telling that she had run into Evan Rosier in the kitchen, much less spread a rumor that Evan was stalking her. She'd rather not say anything to get her in trouble with any Slytherin.
She noticed that he was watching the elves, and she glanced around too. Alice looked down to her hands in her lap and fiddled with hem of her shirt sleeve. She wasn't expecting the next question that came out of Evan's mouth. She noted the curious tone to his voice. "Nope, no boyfriend." She wanted to ask him the same question but she wasn't sure if she wanted to phrase it as girlfriend or as a girl he was toying with; she decided on the latter. "Any girls that you are toying with?"

There were plenty of girls he was toying with, but he had put them on hold in the midst of this little competition with Keena. If he remembered correctly, Keena and Alice were on good terms. So talking up Keena now might benefit him later. "At the moment there's just one. But she's a special one, I think." He'd play it up and hope it got back to the Ravenclaw. He'd become a reformed sinner for her. For a little while at least. "Do you know Keena?"

Alice knew of Keena. They had had run-ins before, but they weren't very close. “Yeah, I know her.” She smirked, figuring that he was playing this up and was going to make it so she felt like she needed to tell everyone. She's a special one was the first of his words that stuck to her brain. Of course the words just one registered next. As far as Alice knew, Evan Rosier always had three or four girls that he was hanging on. “Is she the one you're toying with most?”

A normal bloke might have been insulted by such a question, but Evan wasn't. He actually thought it rather funny that little Alice Hadley was asking him such striking questions. Of course it wouldn't help his plight any if he commented on his humorous findings, so he played slightly insulted (though not too much). "I'm not toying with anyone, least of all Keena. I really like her so I'm not seeing anyone else." At the moment.

Alice nodded along, not really believing him. The way he said what he did sounded slightly hurt, but she wasn't sure if he was being sincere or not. He was one of those guys that you never could really tell. But if he really was only keying in on one girl at the moment, then good for him. At least he wasn't leading on three or four girls at the moment. "Oh yeah?" she questioned. "Well that's nice. How does your sister feel about you going for one of her good friends?" Alice had known lots of girls who went for their friend's older brothers, and it never turned out well. "Or are you and her pretty indifferent to each other while you're at school?" Alice knew that Dora and Evan seemed to ignore each other for the most part at school, and this wasn't uncommon between siblings. There were times that Alice had ignored her younger sister during the short time that Lizzy had attended Hogwarts.

Evan answered honestly without thinking. "I haven't even talked to Euphie about it. But she hasn't talked to me either, so I'm sure its fine. Maybe I'll have a chat with her about it though." The last part he said mostly to himself. The siblings weren't the best of friends or anything, and they never hung out, but their social circles overlapped and he wouldn't want to hurt his sister terribly. Getting her feelings hurt, though, that wouldn't bother him.

Alice had never heard Euphadora's name abbreviated as Euphie, but she didn't say anything. It was probably a sibling thing. "Well if she wasn't okay with it, she would have said something to you already." She didn't know if this was true or not because she didn't know Dora very well, but she figured that that is what Dora would do. “Girls prefer to voice their opinion at the first chance they get. I can't imagine Dora wouldn't be the same." Alice wasn't quite sure what she was saying, but she hoped that it made some sense to him.

Alice made a good point, and offered a nice perspective on woman's actions and reasoning. She could be useful after all, even if he wasn't going to pursue her. "No, I'm sure Dora's quite the same as most girls." Silently he added 'she's weak, and needy'. Evan's opinion on women were much the same as his father's. They, like children, were to be seen and not heard for the most part. Oh, they had their moments of brilliance, such as Alice's current points. But for the most part they were only good for housework and shagging.
"Are you much the same, Alice? Do you prefer to voice your opinion and be heard, or are you a wallflower?"

Alice looked at him thinking that that was a strange question for him to ask. "Hmm, depends on the matter being discussed. On the topic of Quidditch and other various topics that aren't serious, I keep my opinion to myself as to not cause fights and whatnot. But on other topics, I would probably want my voice to be heard and I would make my opinion known." She preferred to avoid arguments about things that didn't matter because Alice had a lot of opinionated friends. But when it came to things that really mattered to Alice, she really stood for what she believed in.
Alice knew that Slytherins always voiced their opinion loud and proud, and of course, Evan was a typical Slytherin, so she decided not to bother to reciprocate the question back to him.
